Lolli and Pop Find Kindness ~ Book Review
Lolli and Pop Find Kindness ~ A Book Review
My readers know my heart as a Parent, Nurse, and Teacher with a Master of Education degree that I LOVE to read with my children. I also LOVE to find books that encourage character development and incorporate a multicultural positive message for children. Many of you rely on honest reviews from our family, and I always keep that in mind before accepting a review item for our Junior Review Team.
This book is worth the read. It is called Lolli and Pop Find Kindness, written by Carolyn Snelling and Illustrated by Izzy Bean. This book is based on the Scripture verse Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
My children loved reading about the main character Lolli, her cute dog Pop, and her best friend Madeline. The pictures are large, bright, and inviting – perfect for a children’s book.
Review Team: “What inspired you to write the Lolli and Pop book?”
Carolyn: “God is my inspiration for everything! He allows me to serve in our kid’s ministry at church and it is thru the kids that I receive a lot of my inspiration to write.”
Review Team: We LOVED the best friend character of Madeline! Will Lolli, Pop, and Madeline be facing more adventures together in the future?”
Carolyn: “Yes! The next topic in the Fruit of the Series is on “Faithfulness” and they will all be back!”
Review Team: “As an Arizona local Author, what is one of your family’s favorite
things to do together?”
Carolyn: “We enjoy volunteering at our church’s Second Saturday events. This is when we reach out into the community and serve others.”
Thank you Carolyn for being so kind and answering our Junior Review Team’s questions!
Finally, our blog is strongly in support of making audio books available to learners with diverse needs, visual impairments, and dyslexia. For that reason, we highlight authors that publish audio books. We know from personal experience with visual impairments, that audio books place literature into the hands and minds of children who are amazingly smart, and must rely on auditory book methods. We were very pleased to hear that Carolyn is about to release an audio book this November! To make it even better, Carolyn has informed us that her newly coming audio book will be in association with a local organization called Feed My Starving Children. Carolyn’s company will be contributing towards a goal of 5,000 meals – and all you have to do to help is download a FREE copy of her black and white sketches when the new audio book releases! Can we count on you? Please Click here to find out more!
As an added bonus, click here to print FREE Kindness Activity sheets to bring the lessons home, coloring pages, and learning extensions.
